"Oh, the Places You'll Go!"

"Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!"

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
"You can steer yourself any
direction you choose."
Dr. Seuss

This day is finally here. No more late nights writing single-spaced papers. No more parking in Y-lots and walking MILES to get to class. No more classes. And believe it or not, I'm going to miss it.

My family came from Taiwan and Hawaii to watch me graduate. I could not possibly ask for better people in my life.
Dallin H. Oaks spoke at Commencement about the influence being a BYU graduate should have on us.
“The mark you receive as a BYU graduate is neither involuntary nor self-imposed. A mark can and should be a reminder of our relationship to those who put the mark upon us and also of the responsibilities we have assumed as a result of the certifications they give us.”
My mother-in-law took us out to La Casita for dinner that night. I love when family is in town!

BOY, OH BOY!

Our good friends Timbre & Jarom are having a baby next month! In celebration, Timbre's family threw her a baby shower. Shanelia and I attended while the boys went to Priesthood session. Check it out--her family is so great at throwing cute parties.
Congratulations you two! We can't wait to meet your little boy.

BYU Lu'au 2012

This year was my second year attending lu'au and the first year I've seen Robby dance. Mia was one of the leaders for the Hawaii section so Robby decided to brave the early dance practices and participate. I can say now that it was all worth it, but we weren't so sure then. Waking up at six or seven on Saturdays is no fun at all!
 Plate lunches before the show!
Because I helped make costumes for the Hawaii section this year, Mia got me front row seats! Thanks Mia!
Mia did such a great job with her dance! It was so fun, energetic, and so so entertaining.
 Awesome turnout as usual!

"When you're 26..."

"...you might as well be 30!" - my mother

Robby turned 26 this past weekend, and we celebrated with a really fun day to help him ease the pain of becoming one year closer to 30. Haha!

What we looked like before...
The After
The damage
After a frenzy of washing colors out of our mouths, ears, noses, hair, and clothes, we headed over to the theaters for the long-awaited Hunger Games. The movie was worth it!
Matinees (4:00pm) tickets are SO cheap!
Next stop was Blickenstaffs. Robby got a free pound of assorted candies/chocolates for his birthday! He was in heaven.
Our last stop of the day was Communal on University Ave. We've both heard good things about it and since it was not an affordable restaurant we could eat at any day of the week, I decided to use his birthday as an excuse to try it. We were both impressed with the food!
 First time having polenta
His birthday present this year was a Nixon Rotolog. He had been not-so-subtly eyeing that watch out for months--and boy was he happy to receive it.
Happy Birthday Love! Hope you had a happy day.

Tiffany is NINETEEN!

SAY WHAT??

She mentioned on her birthday that this was the first year that she didn't have a cake to celebrate. So being the amazing older sister that I am (hah not really!), I woke up early Sunday morning to make her a cake for when she came over for dinner that night. I went with what I was craving and made a two layer (white + red velvet) strawberry cake with whipped cream.
After church, the weather was gorgeous, so we picked her up and went to the park to grill.
Then we came home for the cake! We called my mom on Skype so she could "celebrate" with us.
And the leftover cake batter and whipped cream were turned into cupcakes!

 Happy Birthday Tiff!
