Cruise Day 1: Embarkation

The day started nice and early. Everyone was excited even though things were kind of chaotic.
We had a BUS to get everyone to the cruise. I guess 30 adults and 6 children is a lot of people... Look at the size of that thing!
Mia & I shared a room and we were lucky enough to get a balcony! Here's Robby and his dad (mostly his dad), insisting that we stole their room. None of the reasons were valid.[Left] Phil & Ollie in their "party space" on their "huge" balcony. [Right] The Taylors' room is allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the way down there...somewhere.
The rest of the ship was just begging to be explored, so we did. Here's Robby in the Atrium Lobby. Isn't it amazing? We headed outside where a dance party was going on on the deck. Before we knew it, it was dinner time in the International Dining Room. This was certainly the most anticipated part of every night. And alas, the seafood "plate" warrants a picture all on its own. Definitely not what Phil & Robby had in mind.
Meagan thinks I take too many pictures of food, so I tried cramming 4 pictures into 2. (:
Vanilla Souffle and Strawberry New York Cheesecake
After dinner, Ian, Maddie, Robby, and I went to play tennis. It was windy and freezing, but c'mon, TENNIS ON A SHIP?! We couldn't pass it up. None of us could feel our fingers within 30 minutes.
Conveniently, there was a hot tub not too far away. We stayed until our fingers regained their color. Oh, cruises are delightful.

First Stop: SEATTLE

If you've never been to Seattle, the northernmost major city in the contiguous United States, and the largest city in the Pacific Northwest and the state of Washington, you really need to go. It's a beautiful city. On top of that, it's home to the famous Pikes Market Place, which needless to say was on our list of must-sees.It's fun being tourists!
We walked past Ivar's around lunchtime and could not resist stopping. They had the most delicious clam chowder and fish n' chips.
There were 5,484 seagulls surrounding the restaurant, so with the promptings of the signs that read "don't worry about feeding the birds", we fed them our cold fries. One of us was more scared than the others. Can you guess who???
As we made our way back to the marketplace, we stopped by the gum wall. Yes, it is a wall covered with every kind of gum imaginable. Next, we stopped by Nordstrom Rack (obviously) and Robby found a pair of sweet Nikes. So he FINALLY chucked his old, dirty, worn-out Addidas that I've been bugging him to get rid of for ages. He was really not as sad as he looks in this picture.
The tourist thing continued as we went to check out the Space Needle. I haven't been since I was in elementary school, so it was a lot of fun.
The view was breathtaking. We even saw the cruiseship that we were going to be boarding the very next day!
By the end of the night, we were all exhausted yet starving. 13 Coins was right next door to our hotel, so we headed there to appease our growling stomachs. I don't know if we were just that hungry or if the food was just actually that good, but everything tasted amazing. We had a spaghettini carbonara, chicken scallopini alla marsala (my favourite), and a bucket of clams in pesto broth. The perfect end to a great day.

One more sleep and we were going to be on the cruise to ALASKA!

Engagements

We finally took our engagements! Our friend Alana Yates took our picture and she did such a good job. She definitely made us look better than we actually do. She is amazing. Here are just a few of our favorites out of the hundreds that she took.

If you REALLY want to see more of the pictures, you can go to our wedding website here.

Beach or MCAT?

I want to go to the beach. Really bad. But today is Robby's last day to study before he takes the MCAT on Saturday so I guess the beach will just have to wait. But look how beautiful the weather is outside! Just look.
And then here's Robby studying for the MCAT. Poor guy. He's having a really hard time staying awake...
But that's only because we just had ALL this yummy food for lunch that Robby's grandparents prepared for us. Lomi salmon, poke, lau-lau, chicken long rice, poi, kalua pig, raw crab, and everything. We even topped it off with a passion fruit/sprite drink and lemon chiffon pie. Mmmm. We've really missed Hawaiian food.

Hawaii in Under 24 Hours!

Look how dark we were! Not to worry, we're going to be just as dark (if not darker) by the time we come back to Utah in 2 weeks. For the time being, all I can think about are the poke, acai bowls, and ninja rolls that we're going to be devouring in less than 24 hours. Not to mention the beach, warm sand, slippers, and shorts. Tomorrow, come faster!

Week Long Graduation Celebration

Commencement. April 22, 2011
Robby's graduation was a big deal. He graduated with an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science with a Pre-Med emphasis. His parents both flew from Hawaii to attend his graduation ceremonies. Lucky us, because we got a week's worth of fun and good food. The night after Commencement, we ate at the Bombay House in Provo.
Convocation. April 24, 2011
Convocation was where he actually walked and received his diploma. His parents, Mia, Shaun, Missy, Meagan, and all the kids were there. He was showered with leis and even got to choose AGAIN where we were going to have dinner. Not complaining though, because he chose Ruby River. Definitely not complaining at all.
Congratulations sweetie!

My Very Own Graduate

As Cynthia would say...

"CONGRATULATIONS ROBERT HO'OMAIKA'I KEKUHAUPI'O WAI!"

(unfortunately the announcer was not half as talented)

You did it! I love you.
